Poems and Meanings
Prompt: Riddle Like Poetry or meaning only the poet can know. A number of poets say exactly what they mean without asking for guesswork while others write as if they wish to prevent people from understanding the meaning in their poem, taking a chance that each reader or critic may come up with a totally different connotation. Why do you think this is? What is your take on the subject?

If I read a poem and it is like a riddle, I lose interest. I don't like riddle poems. I like to know what the poem is about. I think poets who do this think they are smarter then the rest of us. Like seriously? I try to figure it out if the topic in important or interesting. Poets should tell a story and none of the double talk. I will read an interesting poem or if I am lost, I won't finish reading it. I like simple poems with great topics. I don't like dark ones. I like to understand what I am reading. Some poets act like they are out to lunch. Simple poems work for me.

A neat Jane Austen ladies pictures.
