Love. Here goes.

I had known you since fourth grade,
We would talk through the years.
My best friend asked you to the Prom.
It didn't work out for you two.

I heard you were dating my friend
from college. She was sweet and shy.
One night you showed up at my house
on a motorcycle and asked me out.

One date to a movie and a few more dates
I loved riding with you on your bike.
I was defeated, you won the war.
Waterloo. Promise to love you forever more.

We got engaged. We got married. Thirty years
later, health issues, family issues, life got
in the way. We are still in love and will always be.
Waterloo. Knowing my fate is to be with you.

I hope we have a lot of years together, yet. We
have a couple of trips to take, fun times ahead
and thank you for loving me and hopefully, our
waterloo isn't for years. Thank you, Abba!
