The Saga of Prosperous Snow Continues |
'Idal (Justice), 12 Núr (Light), 173 BE - Wednesday, June 15, 2016 Somewhere a candle burns illuminating the night with it blessed light. In this modern age of technology we forget how wonderful candle light can be. I have a faux candle, a little white candle-like light the flickers like a real candle whe I flip a switch on its underside. I received the candle in 2013, about nine months after Mama died. When I fist received it, I used it several time a week. After a while I put it away in a desk drawer and forgot about it. I found the meditation candle (I think that's what it's called) again when I started cleaning my desk drawer out. I turn it on when I'm working at the computer. I place it on the desk so that it is within my peripheral vision. That way I can still see it while I working at the computer. I like to look at it every once in a while, especially when I press the Save and Edit. it reminds me to save my work, but that isn't the only thing it reminds me of. Sometimes it reminds me of my mother. Sometimes it reminds me of Baha'u'llah, The Bab, or 'Abdu'l-Baha. The little candle also has a calming effect on my mind. Sometimes I just sit and stare at the meditation candle. I stare at it and I let my mind go blank. Focusing on the flickering candle light it s wonderful way to meditate. I think everyone should have a candle of some type to focus on when the meditate because the light reminds one that the darkness can be scattered by even the smallest bit of light. |
