The Saga of Prosperous Snow Continues |
Monday, June 20, 2016 “I have seen the dark universe yawning Where the black planets roll without aim, Where they roll in their horror unheeded, Without knowledge, or lustre, or name.” H.P. Lovecraft, Nemesis The "Blog City ~ Every Blogger's Paradise" prompt for DAY 834 What does creepiness mean to you? And what does a creepy person/character look like? Creepy is... ...the feel of a spider crawling on my bare arm. ...a darkness in the soul that can be seen in the eyes. ...unexpected and frightening words from the mouth of a child. ...a darkness moving from shadow to shadow. ...chills up your spine for no obvious reason. Creepy is an adjective that in the United States means "strange and slightly frightening" and in the United Kingdom means "strange or unnatural and making you feel frightened".1 I like the second definition better because it comes closer to my definition of creepy. What does a creepy character look like? A creepy character looks like an ordinary human being with the exception of his or her eyes. When you look into the eyes you see a darkness that emanates from the person's mind or soul. A creepy person sends chills up your spine the first time you meet that individual or sight him or her in a crowd. Those are the descriptions I would give a creepy character I was writing about.
