Superman is a Jewish retelling of the
messiah. Superman is of the house of
El .. That is Hebrew for God.
Jorel, Superman's dad, put the Codex
in his son.
The Codex is the medium for the genetic
bloodlines of Krypton.
Superman can recreate the race of Krypton
on Earth from his DNA.
It is the Codex that resurrects Superman
after he has been killed by Doomsday.

Theoretically, a genetic library can be
amassed, like Noah's Arch to preserve
animals on the verge of extinction.
It can also be used to keep a small
gene pool enriched.
Doomsday bunker colonies have been proposed,
since the dawn of the atomic bomb.

A lunar base with a refrigium of plants and
water and a controlled population could survive
the radioactive fallout on Earth.
The lunar colony could return to Earth after
the radiation levels have dropped in a hundred
years or more.
They would need to keep their bloodlines enriched
with stored DNA or sperm banks.
Perhaps, a hardy native Earth population will
endure the radiation levels with infusions of
fresh bloodlines and subterranean cities.

It will be a new Genesis....
or total extinction.
