The Saga of Prosperous Snow Continues |
Saturday, July 23, 2016 The Creation Saturday prompt for "30-Day Blogging Challenge ON HIATUS" Invent a new dance move. Tell us in detail how to do it...does it include shoulders, hips, arms, knees, etc.? Feel free to add some music you'd show off your new moves to. What kind of a dance goes with Waltzing Matilda? How about some type of slow dance? I feel like a slow dance this morning, something that will get my blood flowing without working up too much of a sweat. I don't know what the outback of Australia feels like, but here in Las Vegas it's hot and dry today. It may not be this way the rest of the week, I haven't checked the five day weather report yet. It's about time for the monsoonal moister to move into the Desert of the America southwest or, at least, into the Las Vegas area. I expect the clouds to be moving in any time and, hopefully, cooling down the temperature a bit. I'm hoping that's what when happen when the moister arrives, but I won't expect it to get much cooler here because it's summer in the desert. Summer in the desert means it'll just get hotter. The first thing you need for this dance is a partner who is willing to look like a dancing fool. If you can't find that type of partner then I suggest either a walker, which will help you from falling down if you miss a step, a very large dog, or an unusually large house cat. If you can't find any of these then I suggest dancing with your shadow because Frank Sinatra and Sammy Davis, Jr. danced well with their shadows (Me and My Shadow). After you've found a partner or convinced your shadow to dance with you put on a CD of Waltzing Matilda and get started. First, move all the furniture out of the center of the floor or, preferably, out of the room. The reason for this is safety. You don't want to stumble over the furniture while you're dancing. Second, twirl around in the center of the room for a few seconds. Your partner and you want to twirl long enough to become light headed, but not so long as to get falling down dizzy. Third, skip one, skip two, skip three, and do a jump turn. Four, repeat step three. Five, do a couple of steps form the hokey pokey and then repeat steps three and four. Six, do a few steps from the macarena and then repeat steps three, four, and five. Seven, start the dance all over again. You can do this until you become falling dawn dizzy or your neighbors call the your family physician, psychiatrist, or start a GoFundMe account to purchase you dance lessons. |
