Finding A Surprise At An Antique Store
Prompt: You go to an antique store and find items that belonged to a famous person. What are the items and who did they belong to? Do you buy them? Do you feel a connection to them? Write about this.
I went to an antique store and to my surprise, I found an original Jane Austen manuscript of "Pride and Prejudice", Jane's blue oval ring, a mop cap hat she wore and a tea cup that belonged to her, that was pretty blue with roses. Wow. These things cost me a month's wages and I bought them. The manuscript was old but had plastic over it and it was even signed by her. Why weren't these in a museum? Who knows? I bought them and they belong to me.
Jane is my favorite author and I will take care of these items. As I left the antique shop, I heard Jane say: "Thank you. I put these items in here just for you." These gifts I will always love. Thanks, Jane. IF ONLY THIS WAS A TRUE STORY!
