The Saga of Prosperous Snow Continues |
Monday, October 3, 2016 On the first Monday in October the temperature is a chilly sixty-seven degrees with a wind chill factor. The "Blog City ~ Every Blogger's Paradise" prompt for DAY 939 “In so complex a thing as human nature, we must consider, it is hard to find rules without exception.” George Eliot What do you think makes the human nature more interesting: its compliance with the rules or its deviations into exceptions? In most cases human beings follow the rules. There are people who believe that rules are either made to be broken or weren't intended for them; however, these individuals are few and usually get a metaphorical kick in the teeth. There are times when one must make an exception to the rules, but these are rare and usually accompanied by extraordinary circumstances. Rules are intended to help human beings survive in a chaotic world which is why there are sometimes exceptions. Without the ability to determine when to apply exceptions to the rules the human race would not survive. The "Blogging Circle of Friends " prompt for DAY 1419 October is Sarcastic Month or National Sarcastic Awareness Month Have you ever written a sarcastic character? Do you know anyone who is sarcastic? Is sarcasm another form of humor? I have never written a sarcastic character. I have used sarcasm myself with family members. Sometimes it went across fine and sometimes it fell flat. I have known a few people who could do it well without offending anyone else, but those individuals were few. I have also hear sarcasm used in situations that were inappropriate or with people who took offense. There were a few times when I suspect the sarcasm was intended as a form of bullying. Sarcasm is a form of humor that must be carefully used by someone who knows how to use it. |
