What is a Black Mass?

Most Black Masses,
mock the Roman Catholic Mass,
with the intent to desecrate the sacraments.
A Black Mass will use a naked woman as an alter
and a chalice to call upon debauchery .
Sometimes there is an animal sacrifice, to
reverse Christ sacrifice on the cross;
a cat is nailed to a cross.

The Black Mass was in response to the
Inquisition of witches in the Middle Ages,
a book of torture known as The Hammer of the Witches
was used by the Grand Inquisitor to force a confession
of witchcraft.
Many Witches were herbal healers and nurse maids.

Unfortunately, vehement hatred for Christianity
was expressed in the most wicked Black Masses.
Human sacrifice replaced animal sacrifices
and Christian infants were consumed.
It was believed this would give supernatural power
to the Satanic Priest.

Aleister Crowley claimed to have gained supernatural
power from an infant sacrifice at a Black Mass.
He was the self-proclaimed Black Pope of the Church of Satan
in the 1930's and 40's.
Anton Lefey took his place after Crowley's death.
He never claimed to have performed a human sacrifice,
but had made animal sacrifices.
His daughter Xena Lefey refuses to make any living sacrifices
and calls on the Devil with Babylonian prayers to the
Fallen Angels: the Nephilim.
