Motivation Monday!
Prince Charles (the oldest child of England's Queen Elizabeth II), born on this day in 1948, once said "I learned the way a monkey learns...by watching its parents." What is something you've learned from either of your parents, using only the power of observation?
My mom died the year I was 6. I spent a lot of time with two different aunts growing up. I probably learned things from Aunt's, Uncle's, and cousins more than my Dad. My dad was a quiet person. He farmed some and before he died he gave me some farming advice after sell ling me this property. His advice was always applicable.
I had an Uncle that taught me how to write my name on a blank envelope in a straight line when I was writing valentines for a 2nd grade party. I learned all kinds of things from relatives.
I was always a reader. Dad read comic books to us every night, before bed, after mom died. I learned a lot of things from books over the years and I'm still reading and still learning. If you take away my books I have a bag of tricks stored in my head to try out, that will entertain for a lot of years.
Quote: Thomas Bailey Aldrich (1836-1907) Editor of the Atlantic Monthly (1881-1890)
"What is lovely never dies,
but passes into other loveliness,
Star-dust, or sea-foam, flower or winged air."
