My daily devotional insights... and reflections. |
Though you may be against God and may even say that you don't believe in Him...., He ALWAYS believes in you. As He said to the prophet Jeremiah: "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, And before you were born I consecrated you; I have appointed you a prophet to the nations." ~Jeremiah 1:5 He knows you, your inner man... He sees you and believes in you. He is on your "team." He sits in the seats of the stadium, high above in the heavens, rooting for you. …And those He predestined He also called, those He called He also justified, those He justified He also glorified. What then shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare His own Son but gave Him up for us all, how will He not also, along with Him, freely give us all things?… ~Romans 8:30-32 ...and He has a divine purpose for you. “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” – Jeremiah 29:11 Sometimes, when we set ourselves against God and against His people, the only way He can speak to us is through demonstration... as He spoke to Pharaoh prior to the Israelites' great Exodus from bondage and slavery in Egypt: Then the Lord said to Moses, “Get up early in the morning, confront Pharaoh and say to him, ‘This is what the Lord, the God of the Hebrews, says: Let my people go, so that they may worship me, or this time I will send the full force of my plagues against you and against your officials and your people, so you may know that there is no one like me in all the earth. For by now I could have stretched out my hand and struck you and your people with a plague that would have wiped you off the earth. But I have raised you up for this very purpose, that I might show you my power and that my name might be proclaimed in all the earth. You still set yourself against my people and will not let them go. Therefore, at this time tomorrow I will send the worst hailstorm that has ever fallen on Egypt, from the day it was founded till now. Give an order now to bring your livestock and everything you have in the field to a place of shelter, because the hail will fall on every person and animal that has not been brought in and is still out in the field, and they will die.’ ” Those officials of Pharaoh who feared the word of the Lord hurried to bring their slaves and their livestock inside. But those who ignored the word of the Lord left their slaves and livestock in the field. ~Exodus 9:13-20 A Call to Persevere …For we know Him who said, “Vengeance is Mine; I will repay,” and again, “The Lord will judge His people.” It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. Remember the early days that you were in the light, when you endured a great conflict in the face of suffering.… ~Hebrews 10:30-32 SOFTLY AND TENDERLY: Softly and tenderly Jesus is calling, Calling for you and for me. See, on the portals, He's waiting and watching; Watching for you and for me. Come home, come home, Ye who are weary come home; Earnestly, tenderly, Jesus is calling; Calling, "O sinner, come home!" O for the wonderful love He has promised, Promised for you and for me. Though we have sinned He has mercy and pardon; Pardon for you and for me. Come home, come home, Ye who are weary come home; Earnestly, tenderly, Jesus is calling; Calling, "O sinner, come home!" Written by Will L.
