The corporation of the Aboriginal people does environmental impact assessments of all the lands they control. There are 3 tribes living in Moreton Bay. They refer to themselves as people of the Sand and Water. The tribes have lived on the Islands for more than 25,000 years. The aboriginal culture is over 60,000 years old. (I'm awed!) The Quandamooka People own the native rights to Straddie Island.


Here, winter is the main subject. The first storm hit. We plowed and shoveled out. The second storm hit the very night we plowed out. So, we moved snow with plow and shovel again. Now, we are having a break with another lake-effect snow watch for the end of this week. I hope spring is early in 2017.
