Obstacles to Conversion - December 29

...Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven. ~Matthew 18:3

As long as we are intent on following Christ, we are in a continual state of conversion... Our natural life must obey the dictates of the Spirit of God.

"The hindrance in our spiritual life is that we will not be continually converted."

"There are whole tracts of our lives which have not yet been brought into subjection, and it can only be done by this continuous conversion. Slowly but surely we can claim the whole territory for the Spirit of God."

We are co-laborers with God in the process of our own conversion.

Much to my dismay, I find that the very things I oppose in another (distasteful to the point of repulsion) are some of the very things opposing my own conversion to Christ.

The scripture that comes to mind is: "Do not judge, or you will be judged. For with the same judgment you pronounce, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.…" ~Matthew 7:1&2

The recognition, confession and repentance of my own shortcomings is a final step in the right direction. If I can accept God's forgiveness, it is easier to extend forgiveness to others.
