We had a street party

Outside our gate

I t went on from morning

Until late

We had banners and ribbons

and fireworks too

The band was playing the noise

Was a hullabaloo

Everyone dancing to tunes

Old and new

And a bucket was passed round

For a charity or two


Little Johnny Ray began to sing

His sister Mary

Danced the Highland fling


Now to end this party

we've had a great day
