No, Not Her

Karen stood at the dishwasher putting away the clean dishes when Olivia walked into the kitchen.

"Mom, can I go to the mall today with Emily?"

"Sure. But you know she has her cousin with her, so you have include her."

"But mom, she's so mean. Well, I don't mean, mean. I mean she's always so negative. She's like hanging out with Eeyore."

"Well then I guess if you want to hang out with Emily you'll also have to hang out with Eeyore. If that's the case then Emily might appreciate having you break up the monotony."

"Fine. Will you drop us off and pick us up later?"

"Sure."

Olivia turned on her heel and walked back to her bedroom, only to return five minutes later.

"Mom are you ready?"

"Let me get my purse. Do you have your phone?"

Olivia looked at her mom like she had three heads. "Like I wouldn't have my phone mom."

"I'm just making sure, Olivia. Next question, is it charged?"

She looked at her phone and saw that it was half charged. "Yes, not all the way but halfway."

"That's good enough." Karen said as she picked up her purse and headed to the garage.
