The Happy Moth

My soul is a moth
flying towards the candle of God's glory,
entering the flame of His love
to burn away the veils
that separate
me from my Beloved.


My soul is a moth,
a lover of the light,
ignoring the danger of the flame
to enter the presence
of the Friend
to be consumed
in the fire of faith.
