Tuesday Contemplations on Reality
Tuesday, May 16, 2017

Day 4 of my 30-day blog posting exercise to my Poet999 - A Butterfly Emerges From Her Cocoon   blog. Yesterday, after finishing and posting the entry, I realized that I need to write a disclaimer because I accept ads to the blog. I need the disclaimer to warn people about the ads, as well as, whatever else I'm supposed to warn them about. Perhaps about the opinions stated in my blog are my personal opinions. I haven't written a disclaimer in several years. I think I had a disclaimer on that blog until I changed formats which also messed up the ads. I figured out the problem with the ads, so they are showing up on the blog. Now I only have to do the disclaimer.

The "Blog City ~ Every Blogger's Paradise prompt for DAY 1159
“There are moments when history and memory seem like a mist, as if what really happened matters less than what should have happened.” Karen Joy Fowler, We Are All Completely Beside Ourselves What are your thoughts on this and do you believe what really happened is more or less important than what we think should have happened?

Reality Versus What Should Have Happened

Is what happened more important
than what should have happened?

What actually happened
is important to facing reality,
while what should have happened
usually makes a good plot twist.

I'm all for people facing reality. The problem with reality is that we all view it from the chemical make up of our own minds, with the assistance of lessons learned while growing up or in adulthood. We face reality from our own point of view, which is very scary. True there is the common reality of life on the physical plain, if that common reality didn't exist we would all be prisoners in our own individual self-created asylums. Fortunately, that common reality helps keep our souls and minds grounded while our spirits are on this physical plain.
