An ominous statue, with arms outstretched, a grievous tale, slightly farfetched. Terrifying and eerie, a monster she's not, a woman in love, believe it or not. The threadbare veil, for tears to blot, left at the altar, waiting for naught. A Venus in white, fluttering heart, didn't anticipate, to be torn apart. Glimmers of light turned sinister dark, the beauty within, extinguished the spark. As moon lit the sky, she remained in church, her shimmering eyes never ceased to search. Time went by, the memory remained, of a woman lost, broken and pained. Shrouded in dust, thin and frail, a vision of love that didn't prevail. |
