Feast of Speech:
To the Blessed Beauty

"O Son of Utterance!
Thou art My stronghold; enter therein that thou mayest abide in safety. My love is in thee, know it, that thou mayest find Me near unto thee."

Words reverberate
through the room as each person
reads a passage from the sacred scriptures.

We come together
every nineteen days
to celebrate the Lord's Supper.

To renew our souls
with the bread and wine
of the sacred scriptures.

Each portion of The Feast
a testimony of God's love
for humanity.

The first serving
is the spiritual portion
when we say prayers and read
the sacred scriptures.

The second serving
is the discussion of
the business of the community.

The third serving
is the social portion
when we get to know each other
and feed our physical bodies.

At the nineteen-day feast the refreshments served are water, coffee, hot or cold tea, soda, and various types of either homemade or store bought treats. This is Poem 36 of 200 Dedicated to the Blessed Beauty.
