Confetti...
Okay, here I am sitting before the keyboard once again... Last night, Sunday to be exact, the blogging Gods were capricious, and cruel. Twice, I typed my blog entry, and twice, poof, it disappeared. Why, oh why? Anyway, I shall attempt yet again to compose and post my blog....so, Here's The Sunday News for July 16th... PROMPT: Not really a news article , but I don't feel great tonight and the news lately is getting old and kinda depresses me, so you get this instead. What would you do with 200 pounds of confetti?
I'm kinda having difficulty picturing this amount. Okay, I mean I know 200 pounds is a lot weight-wise, but what does it look like? Um, would that fit snuggly into a briefcase, or a suitcase, or a steamer trunk? It' s probably larger than a toaster, right? Is this stuff loose, or packed? Do I need a shovel, or a scoop?
Anyway, I thought all of this confetti would have been difficult to create with just one handheld paper-punch. Whoa, that's a great deal of tiny paper pieces!
Since, Norb aka Fivesixer Author Icon isn't feeling too chipper, I wish to cheer him up. I propose I find/build a giant 'Thinking of You' card, and stuff it with the entire wad of confetti. If he's not a tad happier after opening and initiating a glorious cascade of shimmery confetti, he'll at least be more aware of his reflexes and his breathing. A good scare surprise never hurt anyone. Hmm, I suppose the mailing fees might be a wee bit extravagant. My local post office clerks weigh everything, and this super greeting would most likely qualify as a parcel. Okay, it's technically a confetti/letter bomb, but I don't relish advertising its contents with a big label, 'Caution, Contents Under Pressure'. Hmmm. I also wonder how big Norb's mailbox might be...
In August, my son is taking the marital plunge with an outdoor park wedding. Imagine the spectacle I could create with a confetti cannon. Just after the relevant parties exchange their sacred vows, I could unleash the dramatic power and glory of this weapon. Oh, the awe it would inspire! I can see the glittering, colourful bombardment of the confetti cloud. It would most definitely be more subdued than a twenty-one gun salute.
Then again, a confetti piƱata might be fun at the reception... After drinking, some guests gravitate towards swinging anyway.
