Blood Is Thicker Than Love

In love were binding hearts in wedded bliss,
a promise to eternally devote;
to each other, sealed in a written note,
two lives as one with an undying kiss.
Change to thoughts quickly as they reminisce-
a broken trust became something unsought.
Coldness took over and love became mote.

Unfortunate events hurt to the core,
one heart left within an infinite cry.
Words unspoken-like a knife to her throat.
As she struggled from her lover's goodbye.
He would never move forward-this she swore
as her blood wept upon her last written note.
