Cut Out

You are so sure of yourself when you hurt
words spew from your mouth like dirt
intended to leave the deepest scar
an abuser-yes that is what you are

A bruise may fade but still unforgiven
Like glass, an inner laceration
that bleeds every single minute
a nightmare with you always in it

A mirror is a reminder of who I am
disgusting, horrid not worth a damn
A picture you painted with shards of glass
I am worthless, below middle class

It should be easier to get up and leave
but being alone makes me want to heave
Nobody would want me now for sure
You tainted me until I became impure

Although it wouldn't matter if I died
I know I love you-I really tried
As you read this I am already gone
but my love for you will truly live on

I wish you well but must remind you
I have chosen this and it was meant to
take away the unkind words you have said
it's quieter now-now that I'm dead
