when he looks your way,
his eyes stare at nothing but throw
eerie rays,
and he’s too slow to measure
what you undergo
for he’s someone dead you still keep
in your bed

what are you
unconscious or desperate
punching at the same door
to open
when you know
it never will?

If they fell on you
rats, roaches, voles
or sulphuric fiber optics,
they’d crawl or make a sound
and awaken from
their stillness

And if you might enjoy
having a drink
with demons and evil spirits,
even they would say
“Anyone who makes you cry
isn't worth your love.”
