A Screaming Song

A screaming song reverberates through my mind--
Did a spider
drop on my head from above
or crawl up my arm
in the middle of the night?

Listen to the song the neighbors sing,
screaming the F-word chorus
all morning long,
but the cops won't come
unless gunshots are heard.

Screaming is useless because eventually people stop paying attention to it. The are a few reasons to scream, first, if you are surprised by some sort of insect or other bug dropping on your head, and, second, if you are suddenly attacked. Otherwise, screaming does no good. As for singing a screaming song, that's not a good idea because people will either ignore you or give you and standing ovation.
