Visit To An Antique Shop, What I Have At Home

Prompt: Write a Blog entry about a walk around an antique shop, museum or old period house. What intrigued you the most?

An antique shop intrigues me. I once bought a small painting of a boy in a blue outfit. I bought a replica of a 1959 Barbie and a painting of a cat in a garden sitting by iron chairs.

I would like to go to an antique store in New England and find a bed warmer, od guns, paintings and those neat blue and white dishes. I hear that the people on these dishes tell a story. One was about a failed romance and a daughter running away with her lover on a ship. The plate and bowls have a ship on them and a gravy bowl has the lovers on them. My friend's friend has these dishes. I have some tea pots and plates in blue with people on them.

I would love to find something that belonged to Jane Austen but I would have to go to England for that. It would be neat to find old jewelry, music boxes, tea pots and tea cups, dolls, hats, clothes, old books and candle sticks.

I haven't been to an antique store in awhile but it is nice finding things that are over a 100 years old.

BCOF Prompt: What can you find at home that you can't find no place else?

Quiet. I have just one neighbor and am surrounded by farmland. I love it. I have my cat, a caring husband, my books, scrapbooking, a room can sit in and read and scrapbook. My DVD movies, my things, food in my kitchen, a cute house and no noise! No terrorists or bad creepy people. I have a shot gun if someone tried anything. Maybe a farmer picking corn but that is about it as I live in the country.
