Describe the cultural, political and/or religious setting in your novel, regardless of whether the cultural setting is fictional, historical, or modern. (1) What do your societies believe? There are several beliefs in Middletown, KS. But we don’t know if The Tween Detectives are a member of any of them. At least I don’t think they won’t be doing it in this novel. (2) In what practices do they engage? Again, there are several practices. But we don’t know what they are when it comes to The Tween Detectives. (3) What laws or rules of society are in place? This novel is set in Middletown, KS. And the laws for Kansas and the federal government are what The Tween Detectives try to follow. (4) Who/what enforces the laws and rules and how successful are they? Most of the time it will be the police in Middletown, or whatever town and country The Tween Detectives are in. In this novel, it’s Middletown. (5) What technologies are in use? It’s the year 2017, in the month of October, so the technologies are modern day. Most of these novels, if not all of them, will be set in modern day. (6) How does the setting impact your protagonist(s) in their pre-story lives? The Tween Detectives have lived in Middletown all of their lives. And so has the Haunted Mansion. (7) How does the setting impact the plot of your story? It’s the Haunted Mansion. So, it has a big impact on this novel. |
