Royal Falcon:
Celebrating the Declaration of Baha'u'llah

Flying above the city,
he looks down upon Baghdad
scanning the scene
for a garden of roses
and listening for the call of nightingales.

Finely,
on the banks of the Tigris,
he sees an island
arrayed in the beauty of spring,
and rising from it
are the scent of roses
accompanies the voices of nightingales.

Descending
he lands upon the tent
in the center of the garden,
content the falcon
watches and listens
as the Lord of Host,
the Ancient Beauty,
declare to those gathered
the dawn of a new day for humnity
and the planet.
