Since I no longer celebrate Christmas, this is the season of of memories. Memories of Grandpa Frank purchasing a living ever green tree the day after Thanksgiving, Memories of Grandma Mary popping popcorn so that we could put it on strings for popcorn wreaths on the Christmas tree. Memories of going to an evening Christmas party at the First Baptist Mission in the Smelter Heights. Some of my Christmas memories are sad, some of them are happy, and they all merge into mixture of images that make me smile.
I am thankful for Christmases past,
For the memories of childhood that last,
Long enough for me to writ them down,
So that I can decide why some make me frown.
