Today I am thankful...

1. ...that it's Thursday because that means I have only two more days to screw things up this week. Today's screw up was forgetting to read the rules and changing a poem I submitted yesterday to "Invalid Item" . This should remind me to do two things (1) always reread the rules before editing a story or poem, and (2) never edit anything in the morning before I've had my first sip of coffee.

2. ...for the provisional translation of a prayer by Shoghi Effendi, which I discovered on Facebook. I have several provisional translations of prayer by Baha'u'llah and 'Abdu'l-Baha; however, this is the first one I have that was written by Shoghi Effendi.

3. ...that I have a Baha'i prayer app downloaded to my smartphone, because I can go directly to any prayer subject quickly. I'm especially grateful for it today, because I'm having difficulty concentrating on what I'm doing. This means I'll have to stop more often for a prayer break so that I can refocus.

4. ...for prayers answered before I ask or even know I'm going to need something. I received some personal necessities today. They aren't the type or brand that I would purchase for myself, however, they are something I can use, and use on a daily basis.

5. ...that I have a land line which I have to get up to answer. Each time the phone rings I have to get up for the computer, walk to the phone, and answer it. This means that when I get robot dialed calls I have to go answer it, even though I suspect who the calls are from. The reason for this is that it gives me exercise and causes me to walk more than if I didn't get the calls or get up to answer them.

6. ...for 16.9 FL oz. bottles of cold Canada Dry Ginger Ale. I like Canada Dry Ginger Ale because of its refreshing, not too sweet taste, and the fact that it is made from real ginger.

7. ...that we had fried chicken and pasta salad for supper tonight. Friend chicken is one of my favorite foods, and in this house we cook it in olive oil.

8. ...for Ideanary under Writing.com Tools because it has more words than any other thesaurus I've ever used.

9. ...that I'm almost caught up on the "The Contest Challenge"  that I missed entering last year and this year.

10. ...for the beautiful February day we had here in Las Vegas.
