Nigeria: some thoughts

I don’t read the messages
telling me
about the Nigerian prince
who needs
my bank account—
he doesn’t really want me,
and my funds
that run negative
when Nigeria is looking up,
instead I think of the children
born to Nigeria—
so many of them,
and I hope for their future.

The first thing that I think of when I think Nigeria are those scam emails. And so I started there. And then I researched on Wikipedia (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nigeria) --Nigeria is a young country, with more than half its population under the age of fourteen. It's also one of the fastest growing economies in the world--so between all of that, I came up with this.
