Learning Coping Skills in 2018... |
This reminds me of a commercial .. A man sets up a beach chair. He appears to be completely alone on a tropical Island. Then, out of nowhere a second man places his beach chair next to him. The irony of the commercial is you can never get away.. When I review its usually in response to a review. It seems like the polite thing to do.. I review my reviewer. My reviews are mostly my impression of the writing style and story. If it is a poem .. I might include my own poem. Most of my reviews are received positively. But, there is a general retort, "What does this have to do with my poem?" As I said I am giving my response to your poem.. I do grammar and spelling exams. Nevertheless, I get angry reactions to my earnest reviews. I do apologize ... If this upsets some sensitivity in poets. As an example, I reviewed a story about a broken hearted jilted lover. I recalled being rejected at the prom and later getting together with another girl. I suggested finding a happy ending.. The writer did not like my review and thought it was vulgar. When you write you must prepare yourself for rejection and vulgarity. I reviewed a poem that was a series of alternating numbers. I saw numerology in this piece and wrote about algorithms for people. This writer as banned me from his site. I truly thought I was giving a positive review. The first time I saw the Mona Lisa in my high school civics text book; I thought it was a painting of a man. Mr. Sullivan said, "Some art critics think it is a self portrait of Leonardo Da Vinci." I was right! I apologize again.. I like reviews.. Especially the Christian reviews on my lack of faith. Sometimes WRITERS.COM feels like a revival Bible site. I think the Bible is a record of ancient alien encounters. Eziekel's Wheel reads like a UFO abduction. Have I offended the Christians? Turn the other cheek. Do you like a spanking? Relax enjoy the caravan of fools at the Cabaret! Peace out! Muzzy |
