April 7 April Showers, How Cliché of Her

April Showers, How Cliché of Her

April is doing her thing today.
On a morning that promised
sunshine and flowers
she instead sends
raindrops and puddles.
The challenge,
          to make poetry from drizzle
                   with a little bit of sizzle.
Now who could resist that rhyme,
when I'm desperate to write
something less trite than a tome
sent from home and not fizzle.
