King of Festivals

Ridvan is pronounced rez-vahn,
and it is Arabic for paradise.1

My soul inhales the fragrance of roses,
hears the Nightingale of Paradise intoning
the Holy Spirit's words,
and falls upon its knees in adoration
of the Glory of God.

The Days of Ridvan

In the Garden of Ridvan
a rainbow of roses bloom
for the Glorious Lord,
for the Splendor of the Almighty.


In the Garden of Paradise
sparrows and nightingales sing
proclaiming the dawn
of unity and peace.
