Poetry Wrote Over Several Years on Spiritual, Religious, and Devotional Subjects. |
1 Wings I want wings to lift me beyond the bonds of earth, and let me float upon thermal currents. 2 The Soul Speaks I was created, believing in humanity's immortality! This is a creature with unique abilities, a larva upon the material plane at death it becomes a lepidoptera freed from its pupa case. I stepped out of eternity, born into physical reality! I became a creature blind to its own spirituality: A larva newly hatched from the egg, See the pupa as the end - not a developmental stage. I am bound to a physical body, by steel=like cords that could cripple me! Free will gives me the choice of two destines: does the larva feeding its own desire, Condemn the butterfly to Hell's eternal fire? My vision is that of duality, poised between two realities! Body and spirit together compose a single entity: for the larva flight is an impossible dream, to the butterfly being earthbound an illusion seems. 3 Questions About Energy At death will someone jump start my battery? Does my battery run on spiritual energy? 4 The Soul's Song Deathless I sing! Voiceless I cry! Wordless I speak! My wings unclipped I soar into the boundless sky, and seek beyond death's door the worlds of my desire. I dive unfettered by tank or mask into the eternal deep. My song, is unsung by lips, unheard by ears, and played by the spheres. 5 My Soul Speaks I am water breaking against embankments of the spirit. I am a flame consuming the passions of matter. I am a mirror reflecting the Glory of God. 6 Questions About Faith What is it you want from me? Do you want me to say that only one religions is the truth, that only one religion leads to heaven, and all the rest to hell? God exists! He is beyond all religions, and contained in all religions. 7 Questions About My Identity Who dwells in this body created by the conjunction of egg and sperm? Am I only a composition of nature? What animates these atoms in love with themselves? Does a spirit give my body life? Creation of God or composition of nature? Why can't the answer be both? 8 Reality Calls The train's whistler generates a longing in my breast to step beyond the narrow bounds of Ego's reality. The dove's coo awakens within my soul the desire to rise above dogma's walls and fly beyond man-made reality. 9 Soul-Life Formless I am bound to form By an umbilical cord of gold 10 Thirsty Thirsty Verdant plants droop For lack of water in The desert on hot summer day Thirsty Thirsty The soul in the Desert of self droops for The lack of the water of life Thirsty 11 One Wing I wing my flight to heaven a broken winged bird flying on one wing. 12 When Hope Is Gone When hope is gone and dreams depart, A nothingness consumes the mind; A nothingness fill with fear, hate, and sadness. When hope is reborn and dreams return, The nothingness shall perish; Then upon the wings of faith and joy we pursue our destiny. 13 Happiness Equate happiness with the little things of life; the inner person. 14 Responsibility You can't go through life blaming other people for your failures. At some time you must take responsibility for your own actions and inactions. 15 Vain Imaginings Superstitions Vain imaginings can kill Can give power to our own irrational fears 16 Overcoming Insistent Self To question or not to question that is the challenge! Whether it is nobler, in the end, to accept, unquestioned, the ego's desire to be BETTER than others. Or to take arms against a sea of fear and discover your true self. 17 Question for My Abuser Those night you came into my room, using fear to satisfy; using ridicule to control; what was it you did to my soul? 18 The Experience It's the total experience that matters, encompassing mind, body, and soul. It stirs our emotions, with memories spoon creating by physical and spiritual reactions. 19 The Evil Whisperer Do not listen to the Whisperer whispering, whispering in your mind. The Evil Whisperer whispering to your hear and soul. Do not let the Whisperer's whisperings turn you against God's Word. Poet's Note: ▼ |
