Two sisters gave a tea party for their cats and dolls. A bonnet was tied around the cat's head who promptly removed it by biting it off. Kitty rubbed against the dolls. The sisters drank tea but the one sister was more interested in the flower designs on the tea pot and tea cups. The other sister pretended the dolls were drinking tea and she loved tea. The oldest sister who was ten wondered what happens at balls. She heard her parents talking about balls and the sister who was younger kept studying the tea cups. The pretty brown and white kitty was bored. The kitty left. The sisters finished their tea party and put their dolls away. The oldest sister washed the tea pot and cups. She dreamed of the day she would be older. Jane was her name and she grew up to write novels, drinking tea. Her sister Cassandra did paintings and art and attended balls. Jane wrote seven novels about romance and her era. She and her sister never married but they were happy. Jane and Cassandra fell in love with men but marriage never worked out for these two women. Jane wrote her novels and several letters to family and friends. As Aunt Jane, she was well loved. The world loved her as an author with Pride and Prejudice being her most famous book and she has fans today. Janeites honor her all year round, her writings live in our hearts always. |
