The Creation Saturday prompt for "30-Day Blogging Challenge ON HIATUSOpen in new Window.
The prompts for your creative efforts this week are "rescue", "sacrifice", and "tears", but also "there must be an upset victory".

To the Special Olympic Games

There must be an upset victory,
That reverberates down through history,
And becomes part of the mythology,
Of these Special Olympian Games.

We must be willing to sacrifice,
Our time and our doubts and our fears,
We mush push through the pain and the tears,
And rescue the gold for our team.

The "Blogging Circle of Friends Open in new Window. prompt for DAY 2071
“Wear gratitude like a cloak and it will feed every corner of your life.” – Rumi
Let this saying inspire your blog entry.

The Cloak of Gratitude

I don the cloak of gratitude,
I intone a prayer of thanks,
I count my blessing from yesterday,
And look forward to those
I will receive today.

This helps me overcome worry,
because I know the Glory of God
will reveal solutions,
forgive,
and bless me
throughout the day.

Day 1677 July 21, 2018
Use these words in your entry today: lyrical, elemental, brewing, power, ostracized, and bones.

Oklahoma Thunderstorm

I could feel a thunderstorm brewing!

Its elemental echoes
penetrated flesh and bone,
before flashes of power
ripped through angry
charcoal clouds.

Its booming rumbles ostracized
the tranquility
of a summer evening.

Breathlessly,
I waited
for the lyrical laughter
of raindrops
striking the roof
of my Grandparents' house.
