Is your "normal" equivalent to God's "normal?" If not, there’s a problem; and it’s not with God. But what is "normal?" What does it mean? “Normal” is “conforming to a type, standard, or regular pattern.” (Merriam-Webster) Don't be fooled. If we agree, go along with standards prevalent in the world, we are naturally at enmity with/opposed to God. The scriptures say, “Though we live IN the world, we are not to be OF the world.” (See John 17:16-26; James 4:4; and 1 John 2:15-17.) "Enmity" and its synonyms "hostility," "animosity," and "animus" all indicate deep-seated dislike or ill will. "Enmity" (which derives from an Anglo-French word meaning "enemy") suggests true hatred, either overt or concealed. (Merriam-Webster) The way we live speaks volumes to those within our realm of influence. Our God-given purpose/reason for existence is to influence the world... those living in and abiding by the world's standards, not vice versa. God and His Word are the standard to which our lives are to be aligned. Is God speaking to you? Let’s come into alignment with Him today. |
