1 The Lesson Today began as yesterday, I woke with the morning sun, Looked around, but didn't see the reason for rising so early. Went back to sleep, woke at ten, and missed the rising sun. I said my prayers, (as a duty) with my mind on material things and missed a blessing. 2 Yesterday and Today Yesterday I spoke with God, Today no word I prayed. Yesterday God gave me peace of mind, Today no peace have I. 3 Personal Note Remember to say a prayer every day, To bring yourself to account. To say: "I love you!" in both deed and word. 4 The Baha'i Community There must be complete love and unity, In the Baha'i community. 5 Broken Winged Bird The broken winged bird of my soul ascends, Obedient to one universal law That movement toward God overcomes the flaw: The flaw that fear intones on my soul Breaking the wing of faith! 6 The Price of Knowledge In order to be worthy to know the truth, You must be willing to risk hell. 7 Living A Baha'i Life To live a Baha'i life, you must live one day at a time. To live a Baha'i life, you must live as Baha'u'llah commands. To live a Baha'i life, you must take one step at a time. To live a Baha'i life, you must teach each day. To live a Baha'i life you must plant seeds one heart at a time. 8 Morning God's Most Great Name intoned in the day 's first chill warms my soul. 9 Baha'u'llah's Writings His words burn away the veils that hide from me God's beauty. 10 Divinity Mystery indescribable Immeasurable Essence ungraspable 11 Things Aren't Always What They Seem! Divinity projects His image upon creation. Humanity perceives in accordance with its maturity; its understanding of reality. Poet's Note: ▼ |
