My husband Ray's stepmother died a month ago. My husband's family is cleaning out the house. There were a lot of good memories in my father-in-law's house. Family parties, telling jokes and now the house is so empty and sad. We found treasures among the house that will live on. I will smile and think of my in-laws. A blue and white tea pot that reminds me of Jane Austen. Does it belong to mu husband's mother? A pig tea pot. The pig is al dressed up and wears a bonnet. A Hampshire ceramic pig family. They are white pigs with black belts around their bellies. I love them. I am keeping them. A pig doll wearing overalls sitting in a brown wicker chair and a female pig wearing a pink and gray crochet dress sitting in a brown wicker chair. Very sweet and Ray's father always wore overalls. A cute pink and white dish with a pig on it. A stuffed, beige Christmas pig wearing a red scarf. A neat blue plate that can be used for anything. A neat plate of a Dutch couple from Holland, Michigan and I love going to Holland, Michigan. These are my new treasures. A great treasure. A painting by my husband's aunt of a lake, mountains and autumn leaves on trees. No one wanted this! It has perfect details and is beautiful. I am taking it home and Ray's family doesn't get art. I do. Must be because I am a writer. No one knew Aunt Helen painted. I have fallen in love with it. I have never owned an original painting before. I am bringing home a new book case shelf today {which belonged to my in-laws} and I can display my new treasures as well as my old ones. Memories will live on. ** Image ID #2166663 Unavailable ** |
