Depression
Depression

All alone in the quiet of morning
Before the dawn wakens the birds.
Come thoughts, like a silent forewarning,
Depressing emotions and words.

Each day is a challenge, I find,
Forgetting the success I’ve had.
Getting too lost in my mind -
Head games that make me feel bad.

I watch as the sun spreads its light.
Just knowing the dawn has appeared
Keeps me from eternal night.
Life isn’t crazy… just weird.
