Forgotten - Tools of the Trade Milquetoast
Forgotten
The old house
sits back from the road,
a weathered white porch
sags, a broken rail
propped to the side.
An ancient oak ominously
leans over the patched,
curled roof.
A shattered side window
repaired with cardboard
and duck tape
suggests a previous
break in.
Concealed within,
a lone flicker of light.

and wrote a poem concentrating on strong words and the political climate of the day, thus "War Zone - Tools of the Trade - strong words" however if I had paid attention to the assignment in the article, I wouldn't have just concentrated on strong words but described an emotion through an inanimated object. This poem is closer to the assignment.
