Talk Tuesdays are an opportunity for bloggers to share their opinions and engage in meaningful dialog with those you may not agree with. It is especially important to remember to comment! The judges are checking! Today, share your opinion on cloning (animal or human). What about if human tissue is used to create artificial organs for transplant? Share your thoughts! I have no objection to cloning organs. This is a wonderful scientific breakthrough, because it gives medical science a wider range of organs to transplant. There are people out there waiting for an organ donor, who have been waiting for years, and may die while on the waiting list. Cloned organs will solve the issues of available organs and the possibility of the organ being rejected. Real organs, not artificial organs, can be cloned from the patients own cells, which could cut down on the rejection issues. The down side to cloned organs is the cost, this could be prohibitive to middle and lower income individuals or families. I am opposed to cloning human beings because I believe that the soul and physical body become partners when sperm and egg mate. Therefore, I don't think that a cloned human would have a soul. As for cloning the lower animals, I'm not opposed to it. I don't see the need for it unless it is to save an endangered species or the animal being cloned has special significance to humanity and not just few people. |
