Thanksgiving

Reading the Word of God
Before Going to Sleep1

My mind
hungry for reality
consumes the Holy Words.

My eyelids
heavy with meditation
fight to stay open.

My mind
thirsty for the Water of Life
drinks long and deep.

My eyelids
surrendering to the joy of rest
close in asleep.
