Salvation on Interstate 95

Salvation on Interstate 95

On the highway to salvation,
the soul radiantly acquiesces
to both
limitations of speed
and confinement in matter.

Confinement
in a physical body,
or mental machine,
generates unreasonable fears.

Of course,
the left front tire
might explode,
or the semi-trailer truck
in the middle lane
might overturn
on top of your car:
this is only a metaphor
for physical existence.

Just as the Off ramp
is a simile for sex,
or some other mundane obsession
of the animal self.

This being the case,
does the on ramp symbolize ascension
into the spiritual realm?

Do tread marks
on the jersey walls
stand for distraction
from the purpose of life?
