A Job - The Structure of Free Verse
A Job

Sometimes a job
turns into a life long
career.
I didn’t plan it.
I just sort of grew
in to it.

A job to pay
for college
but I never
went back to school.
Met my man and married.

A job to pay
for nine years
of horses and clothes
until I became a mother.

A part time job
to help pay
bills and still be home
to raise my child.

A job to support
my family
took a giant leap
believing
in my own determination
and expertise.

A job transitions
to a career,
empoying others
serving clients
and my community.

A job is what you
make of it,
a chore
or opportunity.
