In utero Conceived in the darkness of matter, The spirit and body are one, They grow in the womb together, awaiting their birth to the light. Born in the twilight to matter, They grow in the womb of the world; The body aging by decades, The spirit developing wings. Composed of both matter and spirit, The entity seeks to know God; Seeks to mature in the process, Seeks to develop its soul. Freewill gives the entity choices, Its destiny to amend; By obeying or disobeying God, By practicing faith or doubt. Moving through the stages of perfection, The entity climbs the ladder of life; Acquiring on the plane of matter, Senses needed in the world to come. The entity in the womb of the mother Is the developing Lepidoptra egg, Acquiring the senses that will help it, Survive on the material plane. The entity in the womb of the physical world, Is the lepidoptera larva, Acquiling spiritual sensens, To prosper on the spiritual plane. Death breaks open the pupa case, That imprisoned the Lepidoptera's form, Freeing the entity's imago, To soar in the world to come. Poet's Note: ▼ |
