Winter Wind
Winter Wind
Polar vortex winds--
icicles dripping water
strike spring's warm soil--
blow through the city:
my internal organs shiver,
vital fluids freeze,
and arthritic knuckles throb.
Spring is a dream
echoing through glacial canyons,
and across stark white snow fields
to numb the sweltering heart of civilization.
