quantum entanglement
since we met--
a dropped pen,
a laugh,
bright blue eyes,
--I've fallen into your orbit.
where does "I" end and "you" begin
when your motion
affects me, and I am moved--
lean into your arm,
brush your hair back,
hands, brushing, meeting, clasping,
--our names fall together
from friends' lips.
we are two particles
interacting--
intertwined
--one of us
cannot be defined alone.
Prompt: entanglement
We've started! I'm so excited about a month of poetry (simple poetry). When I saw this, I immediately thought quantum, which meant that I went googling to find the definition, and then played with that in the poem. I'm not sure it totally works. It might be too much on the nose.
