Personal Space
Prompt: Joy asked what do we think personal space is and how do we measure it? Why are we so territorial about it?

I worked in mental health and would be passing out Meds. The patients would stand by the Med Cart and when each of those patients take 20 pills each, it is easy to make a Med error. I had to tell them to go sit down and I will call your name when it is your turn. We had to remind these patients of boundaries. They would want to be in the Med Room and that was Nursing Staff's personal space.

Like at home. My husband has the garage and a new pole barn. These are his personal space. We share a bedroom and the rest of the house except I have a Doll Room and the front room is ours but he doesn't spend anytime out there. The cat spends more time out there then we do. When I work in the kitchen, I prefer my husband stay in the living room until I am done. We share the house otherwise.

I was an only child and had my own room. When I lived at my grandparents, my annoying cousin lived next door and I didn't want her in my room. My one friend would come over and touch my things and I didn't like that. My things were personal.

Measuring personal space? I guess the rooms I stay in my personal space. My husband respects that. I hope this is what personal space means.

Sven, reindeer from Frozen. I love him.
