One Hell of a Ride!

One Hell of a Ride!

In light and dark
I clawed my way
through metaphor and simile.
I dared to journey
through the realms
that others had prepared for me.

Each day a challenge
would appear
to test my creativity,
a glimpse into
the dark abyss
where only words can set you free.

I found a strength
unknown before
that let me rise above the din
and answer each
and every call
from tormentors without, within.

I've learned to never
hesitate,
to love and live each moment's gift.
Don't take for granted
what you hold
for in a moment, it may shift.

And in the end,
the journey done,
the pleasure that I feel inside
shows on my face –
a thankful grin.
This was one hell of a ride!
